Biography

A. H. Hume joined the employ of Alexander Steinert in 1888, starting as a bookkeeper. He was soon given charge of supervising Steinert's various branch stores, and upon Steinert's acquisition of the Jewett Piano Company was elected treasurer and manager of that concern. In 1903 the Hume piano was produced under Hume's personal supervision, and the text credits its superior qualities with securing the Hume piano a place among the leading pianos of the day.
