Biography
Andrew Brunet, an Alsatian, was, as far as Spillane could determine, the first action manufacturer to appear in New York. He opened a shop at 30 Clark Street in 1842 and remained located there until 1856, making him a pioneering figure in the specialized trade of piano action manufacture that developed alongside the main piano-making industry in the city.
