Biography
B. B. Leeds, of Boston, purchased a piano made by the short-lived firm of Stewart & Chickering on August 15, 1823. George H. Chickering cited this instrument, still held at the Chickering factory at the time of writing, as documentary evidence corroborating the early partnership between his father and the Scottish maker James Stewart.
