Bishop is credited, jointly with Downe, as co-inventor of a keyboard attachment illustrated in Alfred Dolge's chapter on the player piano. The device, dated 1883, is shown in cross-section and internal-mechanism drawings depicting key-actuating machinery attached to a piano keyboard. The text gives no further biographical detail, first name, dates, or nationality for Bishop beyond this joint patent credit.
