Biography
C. C. Briggs, Jr. entered into business with his father, C. C. Briggs, Sr., at 1125 Washington Street, following the elder Briggs's dissolved partnership with George M. Guild. The resulting firm, Briggs & Company, later moved to larger premises at 5 and 7 Appleton Street specially built for their use, and was noted as among the first to develop the upright piano's resources for general use.
