German
factory manager
Biography
When merchant Weickert assumed control of the faltering felt-hammer venture begun by F. W. Patzschke, he secured the services of C. W. Patzschke, son of Patzschke's old partner, to serve as manager of the factory. Under this arrangement the business was pushed energetically forward, with Weickert reinvesting profits in new machinery and buildings. A portrait of C. W.
