Biography
Callie Lumsden married Jesse French, Sr. on January 2, 1872. Described as a good wife and mother who was averse to seeing her husband drawn into politics, she raised their three sons to be useful members of society and implanted in them a love of music. Family evenings found her presiding at the piano while her sons accompanied her on cornet, violin, and flute, playing classical quartets.
