Biography
Saint-Saëns is noted as having made his own début at the Salle Pleyel in Paris in 1846, also at the age of ten, following the earlier appearance there of the ten-year-old Anton Rubinstein in 1841. Both appearances are cited as examples of the hall's role in launching noted musical careers.
