Biography
Carl André of Frankfort a/M was the able president of the German "National Association of Piano Dealers," headquartered at Leipsic. From its inception he led a sustained campaign against fraudulent advertising, sham sales, and other dishonest or disreputable methods then prevalent in the piano trade, with reportedly excellent results. Under his leadership the association reached 344 active members and maintained a bureau of information, periodically publishing confidential circulars listing objectionable dealers and other trade notices.
