Biography
Chambers joined the New York piano firm associated with Robert Stodart in 1836, at the same time as George Bacon. Five years later Chambers withdrew from the business along with Dubois, after which Raven joined and the firm was renamed Bacon & Raven. From Spillane (1890): A Mr. Chambers was admitted as a partner in William Dubois's New York piano firm a few years after its founding, an event that prompted Robert Stodart Jr. to withdraw and begin manufacturing elsewhere.
