Biography
Charles Albrecht is named as a maker of square pianos in Philadelphia beginning around 1789, working in the period just after Behrend's early exhibition of the form in America. Dolge characterizes his instruments as excellent. An illustration of one of his square pianos, shown with the lid open beside a staircase, accompanies the text. No further biographical detail -- birth, death, training, or later career -- is given about Albrecht in this section.
