Biography
Charles Borst was the practical partner in the New York firm of Rogers & Borst, manufacturers of reliable wholesale instruments that dissolved in 1877. Since that year he served as superintendent of William E. Wheelock & Company, overseeing their factory from its founding on West Twenty-fourth Street. Described as a progressive and practical piano-maker in the general sense, he was also a scale-drawer and inventor in addition to his other acquirements.
