Charles H. Rose is named as one of the men who, in July 1860, associated with Samuel Merritt Comstock, George Cheney, and William C. Comstock under the firm name Comstock-Cheney and Company, the Ivoryton, Connecticut firm that began manufacturing piano ivory and later piano keys, actions, and hammers.
