Biography
Charles Lukey Collard became sole owner of Collard & Collard in 1859. Under his aggressive management the firm, which traced its origins to Longman & Broderip and the mechanical genius of F. W. Collard, forged rapidly to the front of the English piano trade and achieved worldwide fame.
