Biography
Charles Stieff was a son of Charles M. Stieff, founder of the Baltimore piano manufacturing firm that bore the family name. Following the founder's death, Dolge states, the business was carried on most successfully by his sons, Charles and Frederick P. Stieff, while technical factory management remained in the hands of Charles J. Gross. No independent dates or further biographical detail are given for Charles Stieff beyond his role continuing his father's firm.
