Biography
Conrad Narvesen was born in Norway and came to the United States at an early age. He began his piano business in New York as early as 1845, and by around 1865 the Narvesen piano was a well-known instrument. His business continued under the firm name Narvesen, Hangaard & Bergmann, operating at 230 and 232 East Thirty-sixth Street until R. M. Walters purchased the plant and good-will in August 1880.
