Biography
D. R. Stanford, described by Spillane as a respected member of the music trade, succeeded to the Stodart piano business prior to 1870, after it had passed through the names Stodart & Company and Stodart & Morris. He continued manufacturing the Stodart piano for some time but was unable to resuscitate public interest in a name that, though once eminent, had gone into oblivion.
