Daniel B. Newhall
piano maker
Biography
Daniel B. Newhall was a Boston piano-maker who partnered with John Dwight in the firm Dwight & Newhall. The firm exhibited pianos in 1839 built to meet demand for low-priced instruments, a market it appears to have served exclusively. In 1841 Newhall and Dwight jointly patented a method of adjusting piano keys meant to supersede the standard technique of the day, though it ultimately did not succeed. No further biographical detail is given in this portion of the text.
