Biography
Ernest G. Meikle was born November 25, 1865, at Pecatonica, Illinois. He entered the service of George P. Bent in 1887 and, demonstrating ability as a salesman, was appointed in 1899 manager of the sales and advertising departments. In 1908 he was elected secretary of the corporation, and in 1912 he became vice-president and treasurer of the George P. Bent Company. He is identified in the text as George H. Bent's brother-in-law, whom George H. Bent succeeded as secretary in 1912.
