F. R. Goolman
inventor of the "Harmonist" player mechanism
Biography
F. R. Goolman was granted patents on February 1 and April 26, 1898, for a player-piano mechanism. These patents were acquired by F. Engelhardt & Sons, who used them to build their "Harmonist" player, introduced the same year. Dolge illustrates the Harmonist Player as an example of Goolman's design. No further biographical information is given.
