Biography

Fred W. Lohr, secretary of Hardman, Peck and Company, was born at Speyer, Germany, in 1854, and came to New York with his parents the following year, residing there ever since. His connection with the musical industries spanned thirty-six years by the time of writing. He joined Hardman, Peck and Company in 1883, taking charge of the wholesale department. Among traveling men in the piano trade he was said to be among the best known from one end of the United States to the other, thoroughly conversant with the business side of the industry; his sincerity and enthusiasm secured him the respect and friendship of the many merchants distributing Hardman-Peck products throughout the country.
