Biography
Frederic Chopin is noted as having made his debut before the Paris public in 1832 at the newly erected Salle Pleyel, the concert hall associated with the Pleyel piano firm, which had also hosted performers such as Kalkbrenner, Hummel, Hiller, Moscheles and Mme. Pleyel. Frederic Chopin is noted as the notable exception among great artists who otherwise favored Erard pianos. He formed an intimate friendship with Camille Pleyel, becoming, per the text (which breaks off at the page boundary), an enthusiastic admirer.
