Biography
Frederici is credited by the historian Fétis with having made 'square' pianofortes several years before Zumpe's 1760 London instrument, which is otherwise regarded as the originator of the form. Spillane treats Fétis's claim on Frederici's behalf as of little consequence and provides no further detail about Frederici himself.
