Friedrich Wilhelm Rosenkrantz

German

piano maker
  • Rosenkrantz

Biography

Friedrich Wilhelm Rosenkrantz succeeded his father, Ernst Philip Rosenkrantz, upon the latter's death in 1828, continuing the piano-making firm his father had founded in 1797. The text states that under the family's continued direction the firm maintained its worldwide reputation for high-grade instruments and its large export business to North America, enjoying an enviable position among the Dresden makers of the time of writing. No birth or death dates, nor any further individual achievements distinguishing Friedrich Wilhelm's own tenure from his father's founding work, are given in this brief section, which treats him chiefly as the successor who preserved the Rosenkrantz firm's established reputation.
