Biography

Fuchs of Nuremberg is described as perhaps the first person to make the manufacturing of piano wire a specialty business, supplying clavichord and harpsichord makers during the 18th century, at a time when iron wire for musical instruments had already been drawn at Augsburg as early as 1351. No further biographical detail is given about Fuchs beyond this role as an early specialist wire maker.
