Biography
G. Barmore, together with H. Barmore, formed the firm of G. & H. Barmore, which first appeared in the New York trade in 1832 at 120 Barrow Street. The Barmores became known as makers of popular-priced pianos and remained in business past 1850. In 1836 the firm exhibited a square piano at the Mechanics' Institute and received a diploma for merit, and it continued to be mentioned favorably in later exhibitions.
