G. D. Mackay was the brother and business associate of Captain John Mackay. Alpheus Babcock, while working in Boston, built pianos for both John Mackay and G. D. Mackay, although the completed instruments were stamped only with Babcock's own maker's seal. No further biographical detail is given about G. D. Mackay individually.
