George A. Steinway, born June 4, 1865, was the eldest son of William Steinway and, at the time of writing, the youngest member of the firm of Steinway & Sons. Despite his youth, he was said to possess all the qualities necessary for his position, having been carefully educated and "thoroughly schooled at the bench in the different Steinway & Sons factories."
