Biography
George Doll was one of Jacob Doll's five sons who entered the family piano business and was trained by his father as a practical piano maker. When the firm was incorporated in 1904 he was made treasurer of Jacob Doll and Sons, with his brother Jacob Doll, Jr. serving as his assistant. The company, based in the United States, was among the pioneers of player piano manufacturing and specialized in coin-operated electric pianos, continuing to prosper as a family-run enterprise after their father's death in 1911.
