piano maker
Biography
George Jardine was the brother of piano maker John Jardine. The two brothers emigrated from England to New York around the same period and, in Spillane's account, "played a prominent part in the development of the pianoforte art business" there. While John Jardine's piano-making career was largely confined to 1832-1838, George Jardine continued making pianos past 1840 for many years, giving the Jardine name a longer-lasting presence in the New York trade than his brother's.
