Geroek

piano maker
  • Geroek, of Cornhill

Biography

Geroek, of Cornhill, London, was said to have built an overstrung cottage piano and a similar overstrung square in 1835 to the designs of Theobald Boehm, the noted flute maker. This claim was brought forward by A. J. Hipkins as a significant discovery, though Spillane counters that a nearly identical overstrung upright design by a maker named Fischer already existed in official British patent drawings dated May 13, 1835.
