Biography
Grubb was the son-in-law of F. W. Frickinger, the German-born founder of an early American piano action factory established at Albany, New York, in 1837 and later moved to Nassau, New York. Grubb succeeded Frickinger in running the business, which continued afterward under the firm name Grubb & Kosegarten Brothers, still operating at the time this text was written. No further biographical detail about Grubb is given beyond his relationship to Frickinger and his role in continuing the firm.
