Biography
Guido Hecker, a native of New York, assisted W. M. Thoms in editing the American Art Journal in the late 1880s. He was the son of Carl Hecker, the noted portrait painter and art teacher, and was described as widely popular in art and musical circles, having inherited much of his family's artistic talent, directed toward literary pursuits.
