Harry E. Freund
Biography
In 1880 Harry E. Freund began conducting a journal called 'Music and Drama,' which title he later changed to 'Musical Age.' From Spillane (1890): Harry E. Freund, born in London on May 19, 1863, was the brother of journalist John C. Freund and proprietor and editor of the trade weekly Freund's Music and Drama. Educated in England, he emigrated to the United States in 1880 and took over the paper's operations during his brother's temporary retirement from journalism. He was described as a popular young editor, highly esteemed throughout both professional and commercial piano circles.
