Hayman Levy

merchant importer/dealer

Biography

Hayman Levy was among the general merchants of New York whom Spillane names as informal importers of harpsichords, and occasionally a pianoforte for a special customer, before 1776. Like other merchants of the period, he would have imported such instruments alongside furniture, paintings, clothing, and other luxury goods carried on the same ships, some of which these merchants partly owned.
