Biography
Hermann Seyffarth, described by Dolge as "the well-known repairer of violins and other musical instruments," was placed in charge of the workshop Paul de Wit set up to restore the antique instruments he collected during his travels, rejuvenating "battered relics" discovered in storehouses, barns, garrets and cellars across the Continent.
