Biography
Mr. Holmstrom (given name not stated) entered into partnership with A. C. James in 1873, founding the New York firm of James & Holmstrom. By around 1880 their piano had come to be known as a reliable instrument, with the firm gaining a following of musical people who placed full faith in its makers' capability. Holmstrom is described, together with James, as a practical man who was personally much esteemed, and the pair are said to have conducted a uniform and satisfactory business.
