Biography
Horace Greeley co-edited the New World with Parke Benjamin around 1841, the paper on which Henry C. Watson began his American career as musical critic. Greeley later had as a close associate Henri L. Stuart, described as his "right-hand" and an indefatigable promoter of industrial and political enterprises. Watson counted Greeley among the New York literary celebrities he came to know after his 1841 arrival in the city.
