Biography
Ingersoll Lockwood served as United States Minister to Hanover during the Lincoln administration. He was also an author, credited with "The Perfect Gentleman," "Legal Don'ts," and the children's book "Little Baron Trump." Spillane names him among the literary figures at the American Art Journal who influenced William M. Thoms's early literary and artistic development.
