Biography
J. G. Klem was a German described by Spillane as 'a very clever German.' He served for years as the Philadelphia agent for Babcock pianos, and when Alpheus Babcock relocated from Boston to Philadelphia in December 1829, he joined Klem and began business there soon afterward.
