Biography

Jacob Doll, Jr. was named after his father and worked as assistant to the treasurer (his brother George Doll) within Jacob Doll and Sons following the firm's 1904 incorporation. He also served as general superintendent of the company's factories, overseeing production for the firm, which was among the pioneers of player piano and coin-operated electric piano manufacturing in the United States. Like his brothers, he had been trained as a practical piano maker by his father, Jacob Doll, before taking on managerial responsibilities in the family business.
