Biography
James F. Hall was the son of William Hall ("General Hall"). When Firth, Hall & Pond dissolved in 1847, he joined his father in founding the firm Hall & Son, manufacturing pianos at 239 Broadway, New York. He later withdrew from the business to join the army.
