Biography
James Henry Shudi Broadwood, described as the inventor of the barless steel frame, was admitted to partnership in the firm of John Broadwood & Sons in 1894, the same year W. C. Dobbs joined. His involvement extended the direct family descent from Burkat Shudi through six generations of leadership at the historic house. He died on February 8, 1911.
