Biography
Jean Denis Antoine Bord was born in Paris in 1814 and is credited as the first maker in Paris to produce a commercial upright piano of good quality. He started his business in 1840 and expanded production to over 4,000 pianos per year by 1878, making his firm one of the largest producers in the city. He died on March 4, 1888.
