Biography
John Montgomery was a harpsichord and pianoforte-maker from Dublin who, by 1800, had established a business at 52 Barclay Street in New York. His advertisements stated that he made pianofortes 'on the best London principles.' Montgomery disappeared from the New York business records within a few years of his arrival, and Spillane found no further trace of him.
