Biography
John Pethick, of Mount Morris, New York, was granted a patent on February 12, 1836, for improvements to the grand piano action invented by Pape of Paris. He later relocated downtown and carried on business in connection with a partner named Hancock on Bleecker Street. He subsequently appears in the city directory alone and was known as a small maker up to 1860.
