Biography
John S. Dwight was a well-known Boston musical critic who founded Dwight's Journal of Music in Boston in 1851. The semi-monthly publication, incidentally connected to music publishing, had a long run and was published by the music house of Oliver Ditson & Company, one of the notable early American musical journals contemporaneous with Henry C. Watson's various ventures.
