Biography
L. Isermann of Hamburg founded one of the oldest piano action-making firms still in existence at the time of writing, beginning business in 1842. As an action maker he was supplied with handmade hammers by Merckel of Hamburg starting about 1845, during the early development of the German hammer-making industry. Isermann's firm was later merged with Langer & Company of Berlin. No further biographical detail is given about Isermann himself beyond these business facts.
