Biography
Lycus D. Perry was born at Port Clinton, Pennsylvania, in 1863, where his father had established himself as an organ builder and piano maker. Perry joined his father's business, which operated as Perry and Sons until 1898, when it was renamed Perry Brothers upon the father's retirement. He later merged his business with that of Ludwig and Company, relocating his activity from Wilkes-Barre to New York. He became a stockholder in the corporation in 1902 and took an active part in management, being elected treasurer of the company in 1904. The text describes him as, like his associates, a practical piano maker.
