Mola

Italian (Turin)

piano manufacturer
  • Mola (Turin)

Biography

Mola of Turin is described as having built up a very large piano manufacturing business, described as the mainstay of the piano industry in Italy at the time of writing. The author notes, however, that Mola has not 'gone on record' as an independent constructor -- implying his prominence was as a manufacturer/businessman rather than as an inventor or designer. Mola is named as the proprietor of the largest piano-making establishment in Turin, Italy, producing about 4,000 pianos, harmoniums, and church organs annually, among the roughly fifteen well-equipped factories the city boasted following Röseler's earlier success there.
